Pride Month 2024 and Beyond

With this years Pride Month due to come to a close this weekend, we wanted to share some exciting initiatives that our cracking team have been working on.

We have once again partnered with Play.Works Digital Ltd and Google Pixel to create a new CTV quiz application available across SKYQ and BT TV.

This year, we put a spotlight on Pride Parades across the UK and beyond! Throughout the summer the UK will play host to hundreds of Pride events, including the UKs “gay capital” Brighton & Hove Pride, a weekend-long festival of queer joy with headline performances from the likes of Girls Aloud, and Birmingham Pride with their two-time Eurovision winner headline act Loreen!

But it isn’t just about the glitter bombs and celebrity performers, it’s also about highlighting those intersectional identities that make Pride the vibrant, diverse, inclusive event and community that it is. This initiative places a spotlight on organisations like ParaPride, UK Black Pride and the various Trans+ Pride marches happening across the UK.

Partnering with Diversity Media Sales has allowed us to authentically support Pride events nationally. Together, we’ve been able to elevate a spectrum of identities within the community by amplifying their voices and promoting inclusion whilst celebrating LGBTQIA+ history.
— Teshy Shonga, Senior Associate Director, EssenceMediacom

Diversity Media Sales believes in the importance of amplifying and investing in LGBTQ+ content all year round, not just for Pride month. We are using the buzz and focus on the LGBTQ+ community this month to springboard an exciting new initiative. Working closely with wedotv, Outflix Proud and Boots UK, we are bringing queer and authentic to the community content out from behind a paywall, to make it free and more widely accessible for audiences to enjoy across the wedotv platform.

We are proud to support this great initiative to surface and amplify LGBTQ+ stories and make LGBTQ+ content more accessible for all audiences.
— Aimee Sheehan - Director, AV - EssenceMediacom
This new partnership with wedotv, Boots UK and Diversity underscores our commitment to bringing our vibrant content and amplifying queer stories and voices in the UK.
— Brad Danks, CEO of OUTtv Media Global.

Broader accessibility of content showcasing intersectional LGBTQ+ identities, content created by, for and about the LGBTQ+ community, serves to educate, entertain, support and encourage further investment into the community which falls perfectly in line with DMS’ values and mission of driving representation of typically underserved communities.
